Real Estate and COVID-19
I hope you are healthy and doing well. The world is a bit of a crazy place right now. I thought I would share my CURRENT thoughts on the COVID-19 pandemic and what is going on in the world of real estate.
We find ourselves as agents in a weird spot where in some respects we are considered essential. Moving is sometimes a need and sometimes a want, we have to be here for the need right now. Every agent, buyer, seller will have their own comfort level and they need to trust that. As far as clients with health issues / compromised immune systems I think it would be irresponsible for me to not encourage someone to hit the pause button. I am healthy, comfortable with taking extra precautions and showing houses.
The use of video showings first is becoming common. We are limiting the amount of people in properties. Showings: keeping our distance, take separate cars, no hand shakes. I usually welcome kids but, now might be time to keep them at home. Touch as little as possible while looking at a home. Wash hands / use hand sanitizer. If you have a cold, traveled recently, been around someone who has the virus….stay home.
The reality is that people still have to move, it may not be a timing choice of either buyer or seller, just their current situation in life. So, if you are thinking about selling, now is your chance to get all those home improvement projects done…what else do you have to do! Buyers, staying home will save some cash for your future move and that is not a bad thing. Those who have a need to move now, I am here!
As always I am here for your real estate questions. Take Care!
